SFS Humanitarian Support in Post-Conflict Iraq

Our program in Iraq is particularly critical given the nation's turbulent history, having endured four wars in the past four decades alone. The lingering impacts of these conflicts are keenly felt, especially in border regions. Infrastructure, particularly in vital sectors like health and education, remains devastated and in need of reconstruction. As communities gradually return to these areas, assistance becomes increasingly urgent.

Remnants of past conflicts, such as landmines and other explosives dating back to the Iran-Iraq War of 1980-1988, continue to threaten civilian lives in these regions.

In response, our SFS programing in Iraq will extend outreach efforts to these areas. Working closely with local authorities, we will deliver crucial humanitarian aid to support the recovery and rebuilding efforts in these communities.
